Tsavo safari packages

Tsavo — split into Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks — forms one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, covering a combined area of over 22,000 square kilometres. This vast wilderness, larger than some small countries, offers a raw and untamed safari experience far removed from the crowds of more popular reserves.

Tsavo East is characterised by endless semi-arid plains, the life-giving Galana River, and the striking red-dust elephants that have become the park's signature. The legendary man-eating lions of Tsavo, immortalised in books and film, once roamed these lands. Major attractions include the Yatta Plateau — the world's longest lava flow — Mudanda Rock, and Lugard Falls.

Tsavo West, meanwhile, is more mountainous and lush, offering dramatic volcanic landscapes, the crystal-clear Mzima Springs (where hippos and crocodiles can be viewed through an underwater observatory), the Shetani Lava Flow, and excellent game viewing around Lake Jipe. Together, the two parks harbour all of the Big Five, over 500 bird species, and some of the last remaining black rhino populations in Kenya.
